Step #1 – Domain name registration
Now, what’s a domain name?
A domain name is like an internet address. The Main URL Link for your website that helps internet users to find your website easily. Choose a unique domain name for your website using words that are easy to remember. Never make it complicated and don’t use symbols in your domain name. You can find numbers of companies on the internet that provides domain name registration service. I prefer to use Godaddy to register my domain names because I find it very comfortable to use. You can choose other platforms which you find more suitable for the service.
You just have to visit godaddy.com and check the availability of your desired domain. It’s always good to have a second option in case your domain name is not available. if it’s available, buy it before someone else does.
Add your domain name to the cart and click on the continue button.
Now on the next page, Godaddy will suggest you some optional features that you can include With your purchase Like Privacy and business protection. It hides your personal information like your name, email, Phone number and other private information in Whois directory. Most importantly it helps you Protect from stalkers and reduces domain related spams.
There are three main stages To successfully register your domain name.
First – create an account on Godaddy, Second – provide the billing information and last payment.
Click on the sign in button if you already have an account on Godaddy. If you don’t have one, click on the create new account option.
Next, enter your email address, username, Password and support pin for your account. You will need the pin when you contact Godaddy customer care for any kind of support.

And finally, make the payment to complete your purchase.
Step #2 – Buy a Hosting Plan
Once you have successfully registered a domain name for your website it’s now time to buy a hosting plan. But, before we jump over to the second step, It’s really important to know what hosting actually means.
Web hosting service is used by the owners to make their website accessible on the internet. It provides you a space on the world wide web to store your website pages, articles, files etc.
I use Hostgator To host all my websites on the internet.
Hostgator provides web hosting with three different plans
#1 Hatchling plan
#2 Baby plan
#3 Business plan
For beginners to host a single domain hatchling plan is the best option. Whereas for hosting of multiple numbers of domains you need to choose baby or business plans. Hosting price increases according to plan.
On the next page, they will ask you to provide your domain name which you have already registered. You can also register your domain name with Hostgator but I will always suggest to register your domain name and hosting provider separately.
Then on the order summary page, you can use the promo code option to avail any active offer to get a discount.
Next click on the create an account option And provide all the required details carefully. Then enter the email address and password for your account and continue.
You will then be directed to the payment page to complete the purchase.
Once you are done with the payment process, You will receive an email from Hostgator on your registered email address. You can get your Hostgator control panel URL & user id password from there.
Step #3 – Link your Domain name with the Hosting
Now that you are done with the first two steps, the third step is to link your domain name with the hosting. It’s the least time consuming but the most important step of all.
In order to access your Website using your domain name, you first need to change the name server of your domain name.
Get back to your domain registrar and login to your account using your registered email.
