JAB Planning to put a full stop on JEE – Mains

With the start of new session 2017-2018 Joint Admission Board (JAB) is planning to put a full stop on continuance of JEE – Mains, to take admission in Institutions like IIT, NIT, IIIT, IMS-Dhanbad & GFT  JEE(Mains) will not be required.

(JAB) members has been called for a meeting regarding the continuation of JEE-Mains to be held on 20th February 2016 in Hyderabad, the board will include all the chairpersons of JEE – Advance and IIT Directors.
Side by side, the Chief Engineers of the country will take a decision on JEE – Advance for admission in technology institutions and may also come with the decision of conducting National Eligibility Test (NET) several times in a year similar as (SAT) which is offered seven times annually.

(JAB) may also permanently implement the idea of National Eligibility Test (NET) in session 2017-2018 and start offering the (NET) entrance exam twice annually including English with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. First 4L students with a better score card in (NET) will further be allowed to Participate in JEE – Advance.
